From the iconic 7th hole to the views of Spyglass Hill, Pebble is a must-see destination for any golf lover.
Located on the picturesque coast of Monterey County, California, lies the legendary Pebble Beach, a luxury Resort world-renowned for its world-class golf courses and postcard landscapes. Its views of the Pacific Ocean and top-tier hospitality make it a choice site for golfers from all over the world, though you don't need to be a golf fanatic to enjoy a stay there.

For over 100 years, Pebble Beach Resorts has offered a unique oceanfront experience: unforgettable golf, exclusive lodging, and a relaxing environment. The resort features three main properties —The Lodge at Pebble Beach, The Inn at Spanish Bay, and Casa Palmero— plus four exceptional golf courses and "The Hay," a modern short course proposal designed to be enjoyed regardless of skill level.
The most iconic of all is undoubtedly Pebble Beach Golf Links, famous for its challenging holes and coastal route. This course has been unanimously chosen by rankings and magazines across the golf world as the best Public Course in the United States, and since 1947, it has been the regular host of the traditional AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where professionals, celebrities, and amateurs compete against an unmatched scenic backdrop. It has also staged major championships, including six editions of the U.S. Open (the most recent in 2019) and the PGA Championship in 1977.
The link between Pebble Beach and the U.S. Open doesn't end there: it is confirmed as the tournament host on four more occasions until 2044 (the next in 2027), and in July 2023, it hosted the U.S. Women’s Open. Part of the site's prestige is also due to its iconic hole 7, a short par-3 that many consider the most famous in golf. Although it seems just a stone's throw away, the wind can turn it into a true challenge, requiring up to a 5-iron. Situated on a cliff with cinematic views, many say it is too beautiful to be a golf hole.
If Pebble Beach represents the perfect fusion of sea and land, Spyglass Hill, the Resort's second course, embodies the mix of sand and forest. Its first five holes offer panoramic ocean views, winding through bold dunes before entering the tranquility and character of the forest. A renowned reporter described it as "Pine Valley by the sea, with touches of Augusta National."

Spyglass Hill has been validated by golf's greats: it is an annual co-host of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and hosted the stroke play stage of the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1999 and 2018.
Another standout course is The Links at Spanish Bay, located along the famous 17-Mile Drive. The route traverses coastal dunes and Monterey pine forests, culminating next to Spanish Bay beach. At sunset, a traditional bagpiper closes the day with music, adding a magical touch to the experience. This course is considered one of the best public courses in California and the country, and each year it hosts the TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational.

Pebble Beach Resort also owns the "Del Monte Golf Course" a few miles away in Monterey, which is the oldest continuously operating golf course in the Western United States.
Del Monte is a course with history. Founded in 1897, it was key to the expansion of golf in the region. With its small, sloping greens, it offers a challenge for expert players. It began as a 9-hole course designed by Charles E. Maud and was expanded to 18 in 1902. It hosted major amateur tournaments like the California State Amateur since 1912 and the Western Amateur in 1916.
In addition to its renowned championship courses, Pebble Beach also houses The Hay, a nine-hole par-3 course with a fun and accessible proposal for all levels. Originally designed by Peter Hay in 1957, it was renovated by Tiger Woods in 2021, who enhanced the concept with a dynamic design including an exact replica of the famous 7th hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links and a 100-yard putting green.
Pebble Beach also features a modern Golf Academy, equipped with state-of-the-art technology like video analysis and launch monitors, ideal for those looking to perfect their game.
Another thing not as well known about the Resort is that it possesses an excellent level of service with spectacular facilities. From hotel rooms with views of the 18th hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links and the sea, to rooms with views of an internal forest, but with incredible comfort. The restaurants are another point to mention. The food is truly excellent, with top-tier service and a wide variety of options. From a restaurant overlooking the 18th green and the sea, to a small English pub one floor below, or the restaurant at the Spanish Bay Inn with cinematic sunset views. One can sit to eat or have a drink on a deck overlooking the sea with "firepits" to relax after a tough round of golf, watching the sunset in the distance, and reflect on how fortunate one is to enjoy places like this, which are extraordinary yet within reach. Or simply remember the birdie on the 18th that makes the food taste better!

And for those not as interested in golf, the resort offers much more: over 20 bars and restaurants, spas, fitness centers, and water sports like kayaking, surfing, and paddleboarding. There are also trails for hiking and excursions through the Del Monte forest, with incredible views of the sea and nature.
Ultimately, Pebble Beach is not just a paradise for golfers, but a luxury getaway for everyone.
