Old Course St. Andrews: The Cherry on Top
Playing the Old Course at St. Andrews is the ultimate dream for every golfer. It is the most in-demand course in the world, the place where golf began, and the home of The Open Championship (hosted 30 times).
Legends like Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods have been crowned here. Every five years, the world's most prestigious tournament returns to these grounds to name the Champion Golfer of the Year.

Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, the two greatest legends of our sport, greeting from the Swilcan Bridge at the 150th Open.
We all want to tee off on the 1st hole, hit over the hotel wall on the 17th ("Road Hole"), cross the Swilcan Bridge, and avoid the "Valley of Sin" on the 18th. These are unforgettable sensations that stay with you forever.
However, do not let this distract you from the other spectacular courses in Scotland. Names like Carnoustie (known as "Carnasty" for its difficulty), Kingsbarns, Royal Dornoch, North Berwick, Muirfield, and Turnberry Ailsa are equally legendary. These are true links courses with sea views, steeped in history and tradition.
A golf trip to Scotland is moving even without the Old Course. The tradition of the "suit and tie" for lunch at Muirfield, the memorabilia in every clubhouse, and the post-round pint in a local pub like The Dunvegan are experiences that define the trip.
The Ballot: A Chance for the "Cherry on Top"
If you don't have a guaranteed time, you can still play via the Daily Ballot. Entries are made 48 hours in advance, and Wegolf can assist with this registration process. While luck is required, it is the way many golfers fulfill their dream while enjoying a week of world-class links golf elsewhere in the country.
