Lionel Messi Chose Casa de Campo for His Family Vacation
The FC Barcelona star visited the paradise resort of La Romana, Dominican Republic, with his family. We will be there in May 2022 for the Fourball Américas.
After winning the long-awaited Copa América with his national team in Brazil, the Argentine star chose Casa de Campo Resort & Villas to enjoy a week-long family vacation. Following a stop in Miami, Lionel Messi, the face of Spain’s FC Barcelona, traveled to the Dominican Republic with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, and their three children.
Leo did not go unnoticed at Casa de Campo and, always showing great disposition, he accepted photos and autographs from fans who were surprised by the presence of the American champion at the Caribbean’s #1 resort. The Messi family stayed in one of Casa de Campo’s stunning private villas on the shores of the Caribbean Sea. During their seven-day stay, they took the opportunity to visit Altos de Chavón, dine at the Marina, and tour other areas of La Romana by yacht.
Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is the preferred destination for celebrities and high-profile personalities worldwide, as it provides a luxury experience and offers a range of activities for the most demanding visitors. The main feature that attracts any traveler to Casa de Campo is golf, which is the most sought-after attraction for athletes, journalists, and influencers linked to the sport.
This legendary resort located in La Romana, Dominican Republic, is home to the masterpiece designed by the late Pete Dye: Teeth of the Dog, the flagship golf course not only of Casa de Campo but also of the Caribbean. Since its opening in 1971, the layout bordering the Atlantic Ocean has been the destination of choice for golfers looking to play on one of the 50 best courses in the world. The famous seven holes framed by the ocean, dubbed “The Heaven 7,” are astonishing and possess unparalleled beauty. That’s why Dye left his mark on history when he famously said: “I designed 11 holes, and God created seven.” This layout has hosted various international and world tournaments, including the World Amateur Team Championships (WATC), the Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf, Caribbean championships, the Dominican Republic Open (PGA TOUR Latinoamérica), and twice the Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC), among others.
From next May 9 to 14, the first edition of the Fourball Américas Casa de Campo will be played, competing on Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore. It will be the continent’s first pairs competition, featuring a full-board program with ground transfers and both a welcome and closing cocktail.
