Destination
Naples is another great golf destination within Florida. Chosen by the demanding residents of the Northeast of USA during the winter months, it complements its huge white sand beaches and calm sea, with luxury accommodation, hotels, gastronomy and golf.
With almost 70 golf courses, some famous ones like Tiburón GC with its 36 holes desinged by Greg Norman, a varied hotel offer and the warm Florida climate, Naples is like a “gourmet” and “quieter” version of Miami, becoming a great alternative in mid and low season for those traveling from the southern hemisphere.
Golf
It depends on the time of the year. In high season, private clubs are closed to “members only”, while the rest of the year they enable access to visitors, expanding the offer.
Tiburón Golf Club
Gold and Black are its two courses recently restored by its designer Greg Norman and where in December the PGA Tour usually hosts a Shootout that summons several past and present figures of the tour, many of them even playing as a father & son, as the Daly, Love or the Argentine Cabrera, winners in 2017.
TPC Treviso Bay
This great course is characterized by its design, facilities and great maintenance. The services standards, well above the average, is in tune with the different experiences that the TPC network usually offers.
Ritz-Carlton Golf Club - Grande Lakes
The Central Florida landscape inspired legendary golf course designer Greg Norman, who worked with nature to create challenging greens, wide fairways and hazards. The Grande Lakes course at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club features 18 championship holes and tests skills of all levels. Our Orlando hotel golf club also features a clubhouse, restaurant, and lessons for children and adults.
The Old Collier Golf Club
- Great design by Tom Fazio, although his field is private it stands out for its great quality. An interesting detail are the eagles that breed and have their nest on the tee of the 10th hole.
Other recommended golf courses
Naples Grande GC, Hole in the Wall GC, Esplanade GC and Bonita Bay East GC.
Other things to do
Its huge beaches with calm water and white sands make water sports the first alternatives to consider. Deep sea fishing (marlin and swordfish) is another great alternative. For the quieter ones, the offer of malls and gastronomy is of the first international level. Something interesting is that since its beaches face west, it is a great place to play golf in the morning and after lunch rest on the beach until the beautiful sunset.
Planning
Where to stay
Wegolf has access to luxurious houses and condos close to the beach or even within exclusive golf clubs. Another excellent option are its 5-star hotels located on the seafront (such as the Ritz Carlton), which in addition to beautiful sunsets over the sea, offer their own beach club and some golf courses (or agreements with private clubs), greatly simplifying the logistics of the trip.
Time to book
In high season (October to February) we recommend 6 months in advance, while the rest of the year with 3 months should be enough.
When to travel
High season runs from October through January, a period in which Americans flee winter, which limits availability, prices increase and courses are closed. So there are better and more accessible options between March and September.
How to get there
Located just 2 hours from Miami International Airport, it is very easy to get in and out using that hub.
