Description

St Andrews Links Trust has 7 golf courses, the 6 in the town plus the new Castle located 5 km from the town. The New Course, known as the oldest new course in the world, was opened in 1895 and designed by the local hero Old Tom Morris. It is an extraordinary golf course, with the design in the old tradition (the first 9 holes away from the club house and the second 9 "coming home"). It is even more difficult than its neighbor Old Course and has many extraordinary holes such as 6, 8 and the remarkable 17, as well as the fabulous 9.

Wegolf Insider Tip

Wegolf was there for the first time in 2011 during our first group trip to Scotland and it was an unforgettable feeling. On the one hand, playing the course itself, 32 golfing friends all together and seeing that it is great and deserves a better reputation. And on the other walk parallel to the Old Course. A must-see, challenging, picturesque and pure tradition, all of this is the New Course at St Andrews.

The good, The Bad

Neighboring the Old Course, more competitive and a jewel of traditional golf.
Being a neighbor of the Old Course has deprived it of hosting The Open. For competitiveness, it could be quietly.
