Description
Placed in the Algarve region, near Portugal’s coastline and the border with Spain, this Nicklaus Signature design is listed as the No. 1 course in Portugal and is expected to be part of World’s Top 100 soon. The hilly topography integrates steep slopes into its layout, with blind shots and wide variety. Along with other Nicklaus designs, the strategic positioning of the bunkers and water hazards draw the eye and create captivating visuals throughout the course.
Signature Hole
Many of its holes can be chosen as the best. However, hole 3, a 379yds par 4 with a downhill tee shot carry onto a fairway with bunkers on both sides, as well as a second shot towards the green with water on the right, steps up with its remarkable design.
