The Golf
St Andrews Links - New Course
- The New Course, known as the “oldest new course in the world”, was opened in 1895 and designed by the great Old Tom Morris. Its layout is extraordinary, more difficult than its brother "Old" and its layout -according to the old tradition- goes away in the first 9 holes, to then start the "return home". Overshadowed by its more famous sibling, if it were located anywhere else in the country it would surely host The Open.
Kingsbarns Golf Links
- This modern course is a Kyle Phillips masterpiece and considered one of the best links courses in the world. On an impressive plot of land that constantly overlooks the sea and the bay of St. Andrews, the club offers all the facilities at a 5-star level.
- It is a very playable course for everyone from the right tee, and it features lots of creative shots that make it a lot of fun, especially its 4 par 3s for beauty and challenge. It has hosted the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Lundin Golf Club
- The course remains largely as it was some 100 years ago. The first five holes are in classic links tradition proceeding from the Clubhouse to the Mile Dyke. Players then cross the now extinct railway line and play the nine ‘newer' James Braid designed holes on what one might describe as a cross between links and parkland turf. Back across the railway, the last four holes revert to pure links. Not long by modern standards, Lundin nonetheless presents a thorough test of the golfer’s skills.
St Andrews Links - The Castle Course
- Castle is the seventh course on the St Andrew's Links and offers a different golf experience. It is a links course with many level changes and moving greens. Castle, from the tee is very permissive and except for a few crossbunkers, the tees are relatively easy and that means that the medium and high handicap player can also have fun. The shots to the green are complicated but entertaining, one can be 50 yds away and it is difficult to leave it on the green. And that's why we think Castle should be played, because it's different.
