Description

To play in Valderrama is to be standing on the 1st tee of an historic course, which has already hosted the most important professional golf championships, and where every detail is taken care of perfectly. The course is very tight, every tee shot is hard and the narrow fairways surrounded by olives and cork trees are difficult to hit. It’s very fast greens offer a lot of complexity when attempting of a good score. No wonder why professional championships are usually won with high scores in this course. But this is a must play, and take a tour through the Clubhouse and the Pro Shop.

Signature Hole

The 17th hole, a 515 yard par 5 with water in front of the green, which can be reached in 2 shots. Redesigned by Seve Ballesteros for the 1997 Ryder Cup. If you go for the green in 2 shots, this can easily lead to a very high score, just like when Tiger Woods made 8 shots in a WGC tournament. Another worth mentioning hole is the 4th, a par 5 that is the best par 5 Robert Trent Jones Sr designed in his career, as he said, a real jewel.

Wegolf Insider Tip

To play golf in a course that hosts a pro event and that is shown on TV is something that every golf fan would love to do. Valderrama has that and much more, it is a different experience from the moment you arrive until you leave the Club. To play it, the priority is to put it in the fairway. Wegolf played it in 2009 and then in 2013 with a group of 36 golfers, when we organized a tournament. The feeling at the end is that one was demanded to the maximum.

The good, The Bad

The maintenance. It's hard to find something better in the world.
The difficulty of the course. It can be really frustrating for a high handicap player.
