Description

Designed by Greg Norman in 2002 and restored by Martin Hawtree, Doonbeg has 16 of its 18 holes with views towards the sea. The design respected the natural dune terrain and had almost no soil movement, integrating naturally into its surroundings. With wide fairways (due to its status as a resort course), it has variety and strategy and is an excellent option.

Signature Hole

Hole 14 is a spectacular par 3 of 115 yards, but not easy. With the green below the height of the tee box and a view of the beach and the sea, this hole can cause problems for those who underestimate it.

Wegolf Insider Tip

Just a few minutes' drive away, the Cliffs of Moher have spectacular views.

The good, The Bad

Greg Norman said that when he discovered the site, he felt like the luckiest designer in the world. And few could object to this statement.
You may disagree with Trump about politics, but the truth is that he knows how to choose the fields to manage.
