Description

As any PGA Tour golf course, this course is something special. But Spyglass has much more: the environment, the landscape, the proximity to Cypress Point and Pebble Beach, make it one of the courses that every golfer must visit if you travel often, because you can put together a trip that combines 6 of the 50 best courses in USA. Two distinct parts, from 1st to 5th hole in the middle of the dunes, with glimpse of the Sea and with some similarities to its famous neighbor (Cypress Point), while the 6th to 18th holes are very similar to Augusta National.

Signature Hole

The 3rd hole, a 156 yards par 3. A great hole in the middle of the dunes, where the "island" that includes greens and the surrounding area is close to the sea. It is a relatively easy shot if there is no wind, but if there's headwind it is a great challenge. If you go to the dunes, the lie will be bad and the recovery shot will be almost impossible. And on the green, if you turn 90 degrees and you can have a close-up of the Cypress Point Club House and the course.

Wegolf Insider Tip

If you close your eyes on the 5th green and open them on the 6th fairway, seems like you have gone to another course. Up to the 5th hole you wander among the dunes, much like 6th -12th hole in Cypress Point, while from 6th it seems much more like Augusta, with towering pines and cypress trees, fairways with large level changes and a typical modern design.

The good, The Bad

The great variety of holes, the maintenance and the possibility to play in a PGA Tour course.
It's really expensive.
