Description

The first course to host the Open Championship outside of Scotland and host on 15 different occasions, it is a true test of links golf. With random bites, deep penalizing bunkers, and wild rough, it shows what a test it represents for every golfer. However, its wide fairways allow for correct playability, and distinguish the good player from the not so good.

Signature Hole

Hole 4 is a 496-yard par 4, famous for the highest and deepest bunker on an English course, right on the drive line of the tee box.

Wegolf Insider Tip

A great getaway combining with Royal Cinque Ports and Prince's GC.

The good, The Bad

Because it is such a prestigious course and with so many parchments, it is quite accessible to get a tee time.
It can be a problem for those who are not used to links and those who do not face it with the appropriate mentality.
