Description

On his visit to Australia, Alister MacKenzie was in charge of the routing of Royal Melbourne, leaving its construction in the hands of the club's professional. Wide fairways, prominent bunkers and well-marked contours, little rough, and fast greens with undulating contours make up this course where strategy and decision-making are everything.

Signature Hole

The par 4 17th hole is just over 400 yards and has a dog leg to the left. A narrowing fairway and strategic bunkers on both sides.

Wegolf Insider Tip

Adjacent to Royal Melbourne (just across the street) you will find the Victoria Golf Club, designed by Oscar Damman and Bill Meade, with assistance of Alister MacKenzie.

The good, The Bad

One of MacKenzie's best creations.
It is a private field with limited access to guests with the presentation of a formal letter.
