Description

Royal Aberdeen is the sixth oldest club in the world and its course is a masterpiece, from beginning to ending, standing out above all the first 9 holes, especially the holes 3rd, 4th, 7th and 9th, which is perhaps the most difficult par 4 at Scotland. Being a private club and not a resort, the course has "Tight fairways, dense, rough, fast and very true greens" as defined by its Golf Director Ronnie Macaskill.

Signature Hole

 Hole 8 / Par 3/146 yards:

A large hole, facing the sea, with a narrow long green which can give up to 3 different clubs if the flag is short or long, guarded by 10 bunkers. With head wind you can use a long-iron, while with tail wind a PW is okay.

Wegolf Insider Tip

Royal Aberdeen hosted a Senior Open won by Tom Watson. Tom himself described it as the most fair and challenging field that he had played.

The good, The Bad

Everything. The course. The Club. Restaurant. Tradition. His people. The terrain is fantastic, similar to Ailsa.
Nothing. It's the perfect experience for a golf fan.
