Description

A proud, NCGA (Northern California Golf Association)-owned course, Poppy Hills is the most accessible, nationally recognized championship course in Pebble Beach, California. And while it will never compete with Pebble Beach's incredible coastal setting, Poppy Hills' successful renovation makes it pleasure to play Bringing together breathtaking design, the NCGA’s high standard of course conditioning and hospitality and golf’s greatest landscape, Poppy Hills welcomes you to put the busy world behind you and surround yourself in nature.

Signature Hole

The closing hole at Poppy Hills, a 519 yard par 5, provides an exciting finish and great risk/reward opportunity. At just 519 yards from the tips, this par five will be reachable for many players with a well struck drive. The approach shot plays to a greensite fronted by a hazard that is partially waste area and partially a creek and marked with yellow stakes. The safe play calls for a ball brought in from the right side where a hill that slopes towards the green will feed balls onto the putting surface and set up a potential eagle putt.

Wegolf Insider Tip

It is a great experience, silent, pure golf, with course very well kept and manicured and where you select the correct set of tees you can score. The toughest aspect as in the Pinehurst Course to read the greens, they are very tricky. If you travel to Pebble, don't miss it! One more thing: Ravens will be ready to steal your food from the cart so be carefull.

The good, The Bad

The best price/quality ratio golf course in the 17-mile drive. And maybe the best greens carpets in the whole Monterey area.
The only bad thing is that it loses against more well-known courses in the area, such as Pebble Beach or Monterey Península. But still, an excellent golf course.
