Description

Tom Fazio created this great private course for Collier's Family in the heart of Naples in Florida. The course opened in 2001 and apart of being at the top of the rankings of Florida, it's a place that is known for its impeccable maintenance.  Tim Hiers, current CEO and who invited us to play, is one of the developers of all new species of Paspalum. You will notice it in the vast pasture quality in every corner of the golf course, with ultra fast greens.

Signature Hole

12th Hole / Par 4 /407 yards:

A large dogleg to the left where a precise drive is necessary but never enough, because the second shot is really demanding, to the green which is well protected by bunkers and water on the right.

Wegolf Insider Tip

We were lucky to play it in May 2010, the last day before the closing to renew their greens from Paspalum Supreme to Platinum TE, the new jewel of the creators of this type of grass. The course was empty and it was amazing playing it with the agronomist Neil Cleverly who explained every detail of the course.

It is a typical Fazio design course where the difference is made by its impeccable maintenance and a land of the most colorful in the Everglades. In the 10th Hole they have an eagles nest that they raised and take care of.

The good, The Bad

A really traditional golf club, only good golf. The maintenance is the best.
As every private courses is difficult to play it.
