Description
Within the urban area of the city of Los Angeles, the club founded in 1897 has been able to establish itself in different sites until reaching its current location. The North and South courses stand out for their architecture, and the design by George C.Thomas of the North course -host of the 2023 US Open- surprises with its elevations and canyon in the center, changes of direction, and views of the city. Its rustic appearance and naturally contoured bunkers seem to contrast with the overall design, when in fact they blend together beautifully.
Signature Hole
The par 3 of the 11th hole is a remarkable signature hole. The 245 yards that separate the tee shot from the small green with three different slopes is guarded by bunkers on the front, and shows the subtlety of the designer.
