Description
Gleneagles is a resort with 54 holes, divided into 3 courses and one of them (PGA Centenary, designed by Jack Nicklaus) received the 2014 Ryder Cup. The Kings course offers a challenge, good panoramic views and a lot of variety in design. Kings is considered by all as the best of the 3 courses, with a very creative design, many blind shots, very difficult to read greens and a great finish. On the 10th tee there is a phone and a menu where you order what you want to eat at the bar on the 11th tee. The 11th hole, a long par 3, is possibly the most challenging shot on the course.
Signature Hole
Hole 14 / Par 4 / 309 yards:
The par 4 14th, an accessible hole but in which a bad shot can lead to a very high score. The par 3 11th is a great hole too.
Wegolf Insider Tip
It is a course with many blind shots and where power is not a factor, since it is not long. Tip: get a caddy out and buy the Course Guide. And pay attention to them, since there is a lot of danger hidden in several blows. We were there during the Johnny Walker Championship (European Tour tournament), which combined is a very good program. It won't be your typical Scottish course, but it has a lot of Scottish flair on blind shots, steep hills and where power isn't a factor.
