Description

Myrtle Beach's Barefoot Resort opened in 2000 with 4 courses designed by Tom Fazio, Pete Dye, Greg Norman and Davis Love III. It has a nice Club House for the Norman-Fazio-Love courses and another for the Dye Course. Added to a very good practice area. The Fazio Course is considered the best of the 4, due to its variety, creativity and the quality of its fairways and greens, it is entertaining for the medium and high handicap players, but challenging for the scratch players. On a golf trip to Myrtle Beach, Fazio is a MUST.

Signature Hole

The 13th hole, par 4 of 379 yards, starts with a simple tee shot, but then challenges us with the approach to any of its 2 greens (it has 2, one of them with a lake in front of it). Regardless of which of the 2 greens is in use, we believe it is the best hole on the course.

Wegolf Insider Tip

For those of you who have played courses designed by Tom Fazio before, you are not going to find anything new. It is a great layout, it is not easy, it is difficult to hit fairways and on many greens if one is not close to the flag, then we will have a putt that is difficult to read and execute. The greens are of the highest quality, they roll very well, placing the course among the best in the destination, even to play it more than once.

The good, The Bad

A great Resort with 3 more courses, a very good Club House and a great layout.
As there is so much water hazard, when there is a lot of wind the course becomes too difficult
