Description
Pete Dye redesigned the North Course to transform it into what it is today: a difficult layout whose main difficulty is the movement of its greens, the pot bunkers and the numerous water hazards that come into play. Located in the PGA Village complex, it is managed by the PGA of America, next to the museum where the hybrid that Y.E. Yang hit in the 72nd hole at the PGA Championship to beat Tiger, a world-class Fitting and Learning Center.
Signature Hole
Hole 5, par 5 of 521 yards, is extraordinary. With water all over the right side of the hole. Without being extremely long, it is still very difficult to try to reach the green in two shots, it is best to play a lie up to enjoy the third shot to a very well protected green.
Wegolf Insider Tip
A typical Pete Dye design, sharing features with PGA West, Dye Barefoot and the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. Lots of water, rough, typical Pete Dye knolls, and hundreds of small penalizing pot bunkers. In addition, its greens are very difficult to read due to their numerous falls. It is not easy to make a good score.
