Description
One of the most traditional clubs in Colombia, located a few minutes from downtown Bogotá. The club has received since 2010 a Korn Ferry Tour tournament. Previously, it had hosted an event on the Challenge Tour of Europe for several years. The Country Club has 36 holes designed by John Van Kleek: 18 called Fundadores and another 18, Pacos and Fabios.
Signature Hole
The par 5 18th (570 yards from back tees) of Fundadores is the iconic hole of this fabulous club. With water to the right of the green, the second shot has a rewarding risk. A good approach to the green allows you to have an eagle or birdie option, but a poor shot punishes and a high score on the card comes into play. An ideal hole for the definition of a championship.
Wegolf Insider Tip
Accuracy is one of the most important characteristics to play well at the Bogotá Country Club, especially given the large number of trees on both courses. The distance is not a problem, mainly because the ball in Bogotá returns around 10% in relation to a golf course that is at sea level.
