Description
Ballybunion is a supreme test of golf, and for many the true links spirit in Ireland. Ranked in the top 30 in the world, its fairways are interrupted along the entire course by high dunes covered with penalizing rough that are integrated into the course in a unique way. A course in which the score will depend largely on weather conditions, since the wind is a determining factor.
Signature Hole
Hole 11 is a 473-yard par 4 that runs parallel to the beach, with the coastal margin and the wind always threatening. The fairway shows an undulating character, and the approach must be precise to reach the green and avoid dunes and depressions.
Wegolf Insider Tip
After playing, an obligatory stop is a photo at Ballybunion Castle, and then to the Bunker Bar to enjoy a beer and comment on each shot.
